Bio: "He is recognized under the name The Lazarusman aka Lazarus Mathebula. He also is known for hypnotizing dance floors over almost a decade with his silky smooth spoken word poems beautifully woven into the tracks by some of the top names in the electronic scene including Stimming, Kaldera, Chopstick & Jonjon, Xinobi, Dilby & DJ T. Lately he has been chosen to be the best male vocalist by The South African Dance Awards.
He lately released “Power” together with Huxley and featured “Dear Future Self” by Booka Shade. ”This City” feat. Lazarusman is found on Joris Voorn`s fourth studio album. Prior to this “Oceans of My Mind” with Kaldera released on HMWL and has racked over 2 million streams on Spotify.
His idiosyncratic style of poetry earned him quick recognition in the local poetry scene, performing and competing across the globe. His unique style is attributed to his genuine love for dance music. Having collaborated with a slew of international artists like Florian Kruse, Tigerskin, Hyenah, Phonique he also had appearances on labels like Get Physical, Diynamic, HMWL, Moon Harbour, Rebellion, Freerange, Noir Music, just to name a few.
The Lazarusman has solidified his status as one of the most influential people in South Africa's dance music right now. His solo live performances fuse the current mood of any dance floor as well as a consideration of the past, present and future elements of deep house, techno, disco and house. It’s an idiosyncratic approach to DJing and performing spoken word."
